Did you know this about library due dates and fines?
When you borrow an item from the library, you’ll get a due date for your loan. That means the day you must return or renew your loan. If you forget to do so, you will be charged an overdue fine. If you do not return the book or return it damaged, you will have to pay a replacement fee, which is at least 50 euros. So, it is worth taking care of the library materials.
The overdue fines can be paid by signing into Primo once the overdue loans have been returned or renewed. The minimum amount for online payment is 0,65 euros. Students and staff sign in to LUT Primo or LAB Primo with their university ID. Other customers sign in to LUT Primo with their library card number and a password. In Lappeenranta fines can also be paid by card in library customer service.
Overdue fines do not disappear even if you return the loan at some point or when you graduate. If you do not actively manage overdue fines through Primo, you will receive an invoice sooner or later. The library fines must be paid before you stop using the library services, or if you continue as a library customer, the fines must be paid by the end of January of the following year. After the last overdue notice, you will be invoiced for the unreturned loans and/or for the unpaid fines. The invoice is collectable.
