LAB is involved in several cross-institutional networks. Some are large and multidisciplinary (e.g. CampusOnline) and others are limited and targeted at a small group of people.

Course offering

You will find the course offering of cross-institutional studies on the student's desktop PSP view in Peppi.

1. Choose the Selecting Studies tab

2. Choose: Add studies - button which can be found from the right side of your PSP.

Enrolling in courses 

Before enrolling in a course at another institution, please request for approval from your tutor teacher to include the course in your degree or path studies. If you're about to enroll in Campusonline studies, please read carefully the instructions of the next accordion. 

You can only enroll in the cross-institutional studies if you give your consent for data transfer with each enrollment.

You will receive a confirmation email from your host university when your teacher accepts you to study there for the first time.

When accepted to a course, you will have a temporary right to study at the host university. The host university will send you instructions on how to start your studies (e.g. user ID, how to sign in etc.).

Once you have completed your studies and have been assessed by a teacher at the host university, the assessment is automatically transferred to your own Peppi. The possibility of examination retakes or improving your grade should be checked with the host university.

Campusonline is a joint network of Finnish universities of applied sciences that brings together the online courses of more than 20 universities of applied sciences. 

The courses are free of charge for degree students (Bachelor’s/Master’s) at universities of applied sciences and for Open UAS path students.

The CampusOnline portal is closed on 31.12.2024.  The cross-institutional study opportunities offered by the CampusOnline network will remain. LAB will publish its own CampusOnline courses only through the cross-institutional study information service "Ripa". 

The studies offered in the network are completed entirely online. The course concepts may vary, however.

Some studies are completed independently by a specified deadline, and some courses contain lots of group work completed online and more limited schedules. Please check carefully the modes of implementation in each course description.

CampusOnline courses offered by other universities for LAB students

The CampusOnline course offering is available in Peppi.

You will find the course offering of cross-institutional studies on the student's desktop PSP view in Peppi.

5. When you find a course that interests you, have your tutor teacher approve the course by submitting a pre-RPL application. This will ensure that the course is counted towards your degree. See the instructions on how to apply for pre-RPL.
6. If your tutor teacher approves your pre-RPL application you can enroll to the course.
7. When the enrollment period for the course you have chosen is open, you can enroll to it using the Enrollments tab.

Enrollment

You can enroll in the cross-institutional studies offered by LAB University of Applied Sciences if you have an active study right in your home university. When your study right at your home university ends, so does your right to study cross-institutional studies.

When your enrollment is accepted, rejected or changed from rejected to accepted, you will receive a notification in your home university's Peppi PSP view. 

Study right 

You will only have a study right to the studies for which your enrollment has been accepted. The duration of the right to study is determined by the duration of the course until the end of the academic year.

Cancelling your enrollment

The enrollment is binding. If you are unable to participate in the course you have enrolled in, please cancel your enrollment, so the next in line can be accepted. You can cancel your enrollment in Peppi when the enrollment period is ongoing and you haven't been accepted to the course yet. If the enrollment period has ended and you wish to cancel, please contact the course teacher. 

Signing in to LAB Moodle learning management system

When your enrollment to a LAB UAS course is accepted, sign in to LAB Moodle by using the "Shibboleth HAKA Login” button. Select your home university from the list and then log in normally using your credentials.

The course page can be found in Moodle after the teacher has opened the course area, not before. If there is an enrollment key in the course, you will get it by email with additional instructions before the course starts. Find the course in Moodle with the course code and register on the course page.

Course content and timetable

If a course has time-bound teaching, this is told in the course descriptions. You can view the teaching schedules in TimeEdit. Select Timetables of courses, enter the course code in the "Search Implementation" field, and click Search. 

Assessment

The assessment of the courses is based on the LAB UAS degree regulations, according to which the final grade for a course will be entered into student files within 30 days of the final study attainment related to the course.

The assessment given at the LAB UAS is automatically transferred to your home university's student information system.

Enrollment in LUT courses will not be transferred to the Cross-Institutional Study Information Service but will continue as before.

Cross-institutional studies = An opportunity for a student to study at another higher education institution. Based on agreements between higher education institutions. 

Cross-Institutional Study Information Service (Ripa) = A national service, accessed through the university's student information system (Peppi). 

Home university = The higher education institution, where the student has a degree or Open UAS path student right and from where the student goes to study cross-institutional studies.

Host university = The higher education institution the student is enrolled in through the Cross-Institutional Study Information Service.
