The 300m² Gym on Skinnarila campus is in building 1 ground floor. The gym has a wide selection of modern equipment for cardio and weight training with machines and free weights. Access to the gym will be updated automatically to your key tag within 1-2 office days of activating your membership. If you don't have a key tag, contact KOE student union or University porters (LUT main lobby). After getting the membership, you can use the gym 24/7 with the key tag.

Remember to bring your own small padlock for the locker in the dressing room.

 Group exercise classes are held in the LAB building's sports hall and classroom 8240.

 MOVEO  Lappeenranta has game shifts in two sports halls  on campus. LUT Sports hall is located in building 3, 1st floor and LAB sports hall is in the LAB building ground floor. Ball games are included in the membership and all use must be booked via Avoinna24 reservation system.

Note that sports halls are not in use after 22.00 each day.

You can also book a sports hall for you and your student friends. Sports hall reservations are made in Avoinna24 reservation system.

MOVEO offers free 10 min instructed break exercise session in Zoom. More information on MOVEO main page.

There are break exercise stations around the campus for students and staff to use.

All members are eligible for the MOVEO personal training program once per semester. The program includes an interview, a personalized program and an instructed walkthrough with a coach. You can sign up for the program via email to motiivi@lab.fi. It is possible to include nutritional advice into the program.

Fitness testing 

MOVEO members get a discount of -20% from all testing services at Motiivi wellness services. The tests include strength-, endurance- and mobility testing. Bookings and inquiries can be sent via email to pekko.pirhonen@lut.fi or motiivi@lab.fi.

Body composition tests (InBody 770) are also available. The price is 20€ for students and 15€ for students with the MOVEO membership.

Joint problems and musculoskeletal issues

If you have problems with aching joints or other musculoskeletal issues, you can book an appointment to Motiivi wellness service's Musculoskeletal guidance and counselling. The inspection is done by physiotherapy interns undergoing their practical work placement. The service is free of charge with a valid student ID. Book an appointment via email to motiivi@lab.fi

At the beginning of their studies, a student aiming for sports should contact the contact person Pekko Pirhonen for athletes at the LAB University of Applied Sciences as well as the sports academy in their area as soon as possible. Through sports academies, it is possible to get various support services. More information LAB for athletes -page.

Parry Ry is a sports club for students of LUT University and LAB University of Applied Sciences. Parry Ry offers sports activities for students of all levels. Parru Ry Lappeenranta includes several different sports, such as ice hockey, ice skating and futsal. For more information, contact the sports coordinator or the Parru Ry board.

The purpose of the safer space rules is to help prevent and deal with inappropriate behavior such as harassment, bullying and discrimination in MOVEO sport services. By treating others with respect, we create an equal and collaborative atmosphere in higher education sports and wellbeing services. The contact persons for these issues are the harassment contact persons of the LTKY and KOE.

1) We respect other users

• We give everyone the peace to training.
• We use respectful language.
• We give everyone the opportunity to participate.
• We advise and comment on another's exercise only if asked to.
• We also act respectfully on social media. 

2) We give everyone their own space

• We do not touch without permission.
• We do not comment on others' bodies or appearance.
• We do not disturb by staring.
• We ask permission to film or record. 

3) We treat each other as equals

• We cannot make assumptions about someone's experiences, thoughts, life situation, sexuality, gender, nationality, culture, language, religion, values, health or ability based on their appearance, speech or other behavior.
• We look critically at the assumptions we make about other people and treat them only as assumptions - not facts.
  

 4) We learn from our mistakes

• We take responsibility for our mistakes by apologizing and changing our behavior. We all make mistakes sometimes and may also break the safer space rules.
• We understand that everyone is right to their own individual limits. People react differently to different behavior.  

5) We take action against inappropriate behaviour

• We take action to stop the inappropriate behavior we see by helping the person who is being affected by it.
• We can also calmly interrupt the situation by saying to the person, for example, "What you are saying/doing seems offensive." or by questioning his or her behavior, for example by asking a question: "Why are you doing that?"
• We make sure that the victim is not left alone with the situation.
• We will report the incident to staff or the harassment contact person.
• In situations where there is a risk to physical safety, we will call for further help, for example by calling 112.

6) In case you are the victim of inappropriate behaviour:

• You have the right to ask the person to stop their inappropriate behavior.  
• Leave the situation if you want to, everyone has the right to do so.
• If you are able, ask for help from other users, MOVEO staff  or university harassment contact persons.
