If you have decided to discontinue your study right entirely, it is recommended that you contact the study counsellor of your faculty. With the counsellor you can evaluate your situation and see if resigning of your studies would be the right solution. Resignation will be done in the written form after the discussion on the matter.

The study counsellor maps out the causes for resignation and tries ensure that there are available solutions within LAB (for example, an internal transfer) or if there are other possibilities for your future agenda. Study consultation serves to diagnose whether you are aware of following study possibilities or if you need career counselling (for example through career services).

Before the final resignation decision, you need to first draw all other possibilities such as the possibility to be absent. For more information on the right to be absent, click here.

When student decides to resign, he/she has to fill resignation form: Resignation form

Your study right is marked as expired starting from the day of application arrival.

The resigned student will be given a resignation certificate and a transcript of records (in Finnish and in English).
