Important dates for the start of studies

Arrival instructions of international students to LAB studies in Autumn 2023

All courses will be on campus except Online-studies.

If residing in Finland or you are citizens of EU-/EEA countries

You must start your studies on campus. All the students having a study place in Finland may enter Finland.

When you are obligated to pay tuition fee

The tuition fee (when applicable) must be fully paid

1. Pay the tuition fee by the final DL mentioned in your certificate of admission.
2. Note: Studying and getting the LAB account is not possible without having paid the tuition fee in full.

If you already have residence permit or you have already applied for it

If having been issued a residence permit, you must arrive in Finland and start your on-campus studies on time. The orientation days will be held on Wednesday 30 August 2023 in Lahti and on Thursday 31 August 2023 in Lappeenranta. All students issued a residence permit may enter Finland for their studies.

If waiting for your residence permit to be issued, contact your tutor teacher, participate in orientation days online and arrive to campus as soon as possible.

Arriving in Finland for on-campus studies is possible by 30 September, 2023.

• Inform your arrival details at Lab.scholarship@lab.fi.
• The only accepted reason for later arrival (latest on 30 September 2023) is a delay in residence permit process.
• If your arrival will be later than 30 September 2023, we recommend you to postpone the start of your studies until next possible semester.

The final date to change your attendance information is 30 September 2023.
 

If you have not started or have problems to start the application process for the residence permit

Start it as soon as possible. LAB does not need specific proof / documents from your application process for the residence permit.

You will not loose your payment for the first year as it will follow you to the next possible semester in 2024, BUT you need to confirm transfer of payment by 30 September 2023!

Arriving in Finland for on-campus studies is possible by 30 September, 2023.

• Inform your arrival details also to LAB Student services at Lab.scholarship@lab.fi.
