Student Healthcare Services

Student's healthcare in general:

In Finland, students can use variety of healthcare services.

FSHS services (Finnish Student Health Service) can be used by students studying towards a bachelor's or master's degree in a higher education institution in Finland who have registered as an attending student for the semester.

The healthcare fee for students in higher education that students pay to Kela covers all FSHS services. Students must pay the fee for each semester unprompted – according to Kela´s instructions. Please note the exceptions, if you are a degree student at a Finnish higher education institution from another EU or EEA country, Switzerland, Great Britain or Northern Ireland.

International exchange students not completing a degree at a Finnish higher education institution are not entitled to use the FSHS services. As an exchange student your healthcare services in Finland are provided either through public/wellbeing service county or private sector depending on the country you come from and your insurances.

LAB University of Applied Sciences and LUT University is not responsible for students’ healthcare services or healthcare fees.

For urgent situations (for example you need an appointment for the same day or emergency treatment) you can use other public or a private healthcare providers.
