LAB Students can purchase a Access key from the LAB webshop. From autumn 2026 onwards, new students can choose either a Mobile Key for €8 or a physical Access Key for €10. Acquiring Mobile Key requires that the person has access to LUT's email (xx.xx@student.lut.fi).The keycard can be picked up from the Student Union KOE (Main lobby info point on the Lappeenranta campus) with a payment receipt.

The Lappeenranta campus is open to students 06-24. The doors are open until about 4 p.m, other times you can enter with an access key.

Purchasing the key allows evening and weekend use of the facilities as well as the use of the gym for those who have purchased a separate Moveo membership.The operation of the key ceases after graduation or when registering for absentia.

Access to the EXAM (electronic examination) room is done with your own access key. For occasional exam visits, keys are available to borrow from the information desk in LUT's main lobby.

All Access key activity around the campus is registered. All students entering the premises in the evenings and on weekends must log in with their key. Students must also log out when they leave the premises.

Access keys are only for personal use. Lending a key to another person is forbidden. Bringing friends or other people to the premises in the evenings or on weekends is forbidden.

The premises are guarded by the security services with electronic surveillance system and guards. Students must be able to prove their identity and study right if they are confronted by a guard. Guards can remove people from the premises if they cannot prove their identity. If a student causes an unnecessary alarm and a guard arrives to the premises, the student must pay the costs for the false alarm. The cost is around 60 euros.
