Safe Exam Browser

Safe Exam Browser (SEB) is a web browser that will restrict the use of your computer to quiz only for the duration of the quiz. If teacher has enabled SEB in the quiz settings, the student cannot open the quiz without installing the Safe Exam Browser (SEB) on their computer before taking the quiz. In Moodle, the SEB quiz launches in the Safe Exam Browser. 

Note! The quiz will not start if your computer has more than one display. Disconnect any external displays before starting the quiz. 

If you want, you can take the practice quiz before attempting the quiz on your course.

Instructions for using SEB:

  1. Install the Safe Exam Browser software if you haven’t already.
  2. Open the Moodle quiz and click the “Launch Safe Exam Browser” button.
  3. The Moodle login page will open in the Safe Exam Browser.
  4. After logging in, you will be taken directly to the quiz start page.
  5. Click the “Attempt quiz” button to start the quiz.
  6. When you have completed the quiz, close the Safe Exam Browser using the button in the bottom right corner.
