Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS) provides general, mental and oral health service and works with issues concerning well-being in the study communities.
FSHS services can be used by students studying towards a bachelor's or master's degree in a higher education institution in Finland who have registered as an attending student for the semester.
On 6 May 2026, the Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS) will launch a new digital service for higher education students.
The service helps students access FSHS services digitally via a mobile app or via their web browser. YTHSDigi enables students to manage their health care matters with FSHS at a time that suits them best. The service brings all of FSHS’s digital services together in one place. In the service, students are supported by FSHS’s own healthcare professionals.
YTHSDigi will replace the current Self online service. Compared to the previous service, YTHSDigi will offer more versatile and smoother digital access to FSHS services.
YTHSDigi gives you direct access to managing your health.
In YTHSDigi, students can

- explore self-care materials on digital paths
- manage your appointments
- complete service forms
YTHSDigi available on mobile and on desktop
- In YTHSDigi services are accessible in one place via a mobile app or a browser on a computer.
- Starting May 6, 2026, the app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.
- To use YTHSDigi, students need Finnish online banking credentials.
International degree students who may not have Finnish online banking credentials can contact FSHS via the nationwide telephone service. They will have access to all FSHS services through in-person appointments at FSHS service points.

Please note that the FSHS doesn’t offer emergency services or services during evenings, nights or weekends. Our service units are open in the daytime on weekdays. If you need urgent care, contact an emergency healthcare clinic in your own wellbeing services county.

Before you can be referred to any FSHS service or partner service unit, your need for treatment will be assessed by the FSHS.
Which students are entitled to use FSHS services?
- University students (Bachelor’s and Master’s degree)
- Students at Universities of Applied Sciences (Bachelor’s and Master’s degree)
- Police University College students (Bachelor’s degree) and Civilian students at the National Defence University
Which students are not entitled to use FSHS services?
- International exchange students
- Students at open colleges
- Postgraduate students (e.g. students studying for a PhD)

The healthcare fee for students in higher education
- The healthcare fee for students in higher education is paid to Kela. FSHS or universities do not handle fees. Questions about healthcare fees can be addressed directly to Kela.
- The fee must be paid for each term.
- The fee can be paid via Kela e-service OmaKela. Please notice: Kela doesn’t send bills, students must pay the fee unprompted.
