The front yard of the Lappeenranta campus has a brand-new look and that’s a perfect reason to celebrate! We invite LUT and – on Wednesday, 22 April, from 10:00 to 12:00 at the front yard of the Lappeenranta campus.
Programme
Front Yard Launch is a low-threshold, relaxed outdoor event – feel free to stop by for a moment or stay longer.
At the event, you can:
🙌 follow an exciting kyykkä demonstration match
👕 sell items or find bargains at the flea market (more information below)
🚲 get your bike serviced and ready for summer (more information below)
🎲 try your luck at the prize wheels
🛼 donate small items or textiles you no longer need at the donation point (no large or heavy items)
😋 enjoy local treats: meat/vegetable pies from Kesämäki bakery for the fastest visitors, sweets from Finland’s candy capital, and an energy-boosting soft drink or coffee from a local roastery
Sign up as a seller for the flea market
Do you have small items or textiles you no longer need? Come sell them at the flea market! There will be 20 tables reserved in the front yard guest parking area.
By registering, you will receive a free sales spot and one table (182 × 74 cm). By reserving a table, you commit to being present for the duration of the event (10:00–12:00) and to helping move the sales tables to the event area and back once the event ends.
You are responsible for sales, pricing, receiving payments, and your own products, and you agree to take any unsold items away from the area or to a separately designated collection point.
Alcohol, tobacco or nicotine products, medicines, food items, dangerous or illegal items, pirated or counterfeit goods, and broken items or items that pose a safety risk may not be sold. The event organiser is not responsible for the sellers’ products or sales.

Bike service
Does your bike need a small tune-up? You can have your bike serviced on the event day between 8:00 and 16:00. Bikes will be serviced in order of arrival as long as capacity allows.

- Quick service: Gear and brake adjustments, other minor service needs and tightening, plus chain cleaning and lubrication: €50 / students €40
- Gear adjustment and chain lubrication: €25 / students €20
- Front and rear brake adjustment: €20 / students €15
- Chain lubrication (no cleaning): €5 / students €2
- Tyre replacement labour per tyre: €14 / students €12.50
- Inner tube + replacement labour: €20 / students €17
Tyre replacement labour does not include tyres, so please bring your replacement tyres with you.
Good to know
If the weather is truly awful on the event day, some of the programme will be held in the campus main lobby. We will inform staff and students about any changes in the staff and student intros.
Parking on the campus area is free of charge on the event day.
