Financial support (grant) by LAB is determined by the destination and length of the exchange period. The grant is paid for the period that student is present at the organisation where the planned internship will take place. Days spent at the destination before/after the placement starts/ends, are not supported. Grant will not be paid for a placement done in student's actual country of residence. LAB University of Applied Sciences does also not offer placement grants for recent graduates.

Application for the grant is done in LAB Mobility-Online. You can complete the actual grant application (accepting the grant terms) once the agreement of your exchange period is signed by all parties and saved to LAB Mobility-Online. The grant is paid in one full instalment before the exchange abroad starts (if possible). The international internship process must be started in LAB Mobility-Online latest one month prior departure. However, please note that during the summer time it is difficult to have all documents done due to summer holiday seasons. Also, during July and August grant payments are not processed at LAB.

Mobility grant is paid only for physical exchanges in the destination country. In order to have the grant, you must be present in the host country, even if the internship is completed in hybrid model (partly physically, partly remotely). Fully remote internship completed from other destinations than the host country are not supported. Blended mobilities mean that part of the mobility is done remotely from other country than the host country and only the physical part when you are doing your internship in the host country is financed with mobility grant.

Grant processing times

Grants are processed in International Mobility Services only once a month. The payment date is the last day of the month, and in order for the grant to be paid in time for that month, all actions necessary for the grant must be completed in LAB Mobility-Online by the first day of the month.

If you submit your grant application at the beginning of the month, it may not be processed in that month, and therefore your grant will not be processed until the following month. If your grant application is in order on the first day of the month, it will be included in the processing and will be paid on the last day of the month. For example - you make the actual grant application in LAB Mobility-Online by 2.9. or later. At that point, we can no longer guarantee that the grant will be processed in time in September, so in the worst case, it is possible to start processing your grant only on October 2. in which case you would receive it in your account on the last day of October. If you had taken care of the grant application in LAB Mobility-Online on 1.9., it would certainly be included on 2.9. in the starting processing round and the grant would be in your account on 30.9.

Grant payments are not processed in July and August.
