Vierailuluento: Career in defence – what to consider?

Please join visiting lecturer Petri Suurnäkki on Wed 21 October, 17.00 in A122, for perspectives and firsthand experience from multiple companies and public organizations.

Petri Suurnäkki is a defence technology professional specialized in unmanned systems, military robotics, and AI in defence. His career spans engineering, research, international defence programmes, and active reserve service. Alongside his professional work, he is pursuing doctorate on UAV aerodynamics and further studies in futures research, with particular interests in emerging technologies, AI, and the broader societal and ethical implications of defence innovation.

His current positions include Milrem Robotics, Kasper Defence, LUMRA and ARCTIC RAVN. He is also supporting Lahti Region startups via StartHub.

There will also be a quick brief on LUT University policy on working in defence and dual use related projects at LUT.
